I will definitely be going back! I was looking for a new salon and called for a day of appointment.
They gave me one, but there was a little hiccup. The owner, Igor, came in just to cut my hair because of the mix up. Everyone I talked to there were super nice, and I was loved my cut. Also, I love the 100% effort for customer service, I highly recommend this salon and Igor.

I want to give Kellie a big shout out. First of all, I'm satisfied with how my hair turned out in the end. About a week ago, I went there for a color consultation and Kellie was introduced to me. I'm a Asian girl with black hair and a lot of volume. After Kellie looked at my hair and I communicated my needs with her(I want some highlights in the hair), we instantly got on the same page after I showed her a pic of what I want. We discussed about what our plan was and how it would turn out. I went there today and Kellie communicated with me every step of the way which made me very comfortable. I always feel insecure about going to a new stylist to do anything with my hairs. But I like her very much. And we talked a lot throughout the whole session which was very enjoyable for me. Her techniques of treating the hair works great on my hair and she also gave me tips of how to take care of my hair. Love her and a big shout out to her. Go have a consultation with her and you will love her.

Lesson learned always ask for the price first, I expected to pay a little more for a boys haircut but $75.00 was a bit steep to say the least.
When I reacted in disbelief the owner said "If it were me it would have been $90.00!"

Best hair salon I've been to! Tony Fox is AMAZING! I came in with a botched color job from a few months ago that I hadn't dealt with. Tony took the time to review my color history, examine my hair, look at photos, and really suggest things that would look good. I have never had a stylist who took so much time to figure out what would look the best and pay so much attention to detail. And it came out GREAT! I am so pleased and will definitely be back. Not to mention all of the other people who work at the salon were incredible welcoming, offering coffee and wine, and the atmosphere was perfect.

I went to Fulham in Newton for the first time. Rachel was my stylist. She is AWESOME!! My hair was so dark that we couldn't get the color i wanted the first time. They were very accommodating and made sure i was happy. I went back for a second round and LOVED my color! I will def be making Fulham Salon my regular spot from now on!

I've been going to the same hair salon for over a decade and was really skeptical about coming here for a cut but I'm so glad I did because I loved my haircut ! I got a cut from Igor and he was so knowledgable just by looking at my hair. Def will reccomend!

I was looking for a hip, but relaxed and down-to-Earth salon where I wouldn't feel self conscious or pressured, and Fulham did not disappoint. Everyone was friendly (but not fake) and helpful. I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. And my haircut with Rachel was completely fantastic. She talked through exactly what I wanted and executed it perfectly. She even took the time to show me how to style it myself. Love her! Love Fulham! Will definitely be back!

Best $$$ I have ever spent on hair! Thank you Leena so much for your patience while doing my hair! I have super long and thick hair and got a whole make over! It took at total of 6 hours and Leena was so patient and did the best! I absolutely LOVE my hair it was exactly what I wanted. Looking at the before and after pictures are inane! I am so grateful!! I truly can't recommend this place enough! I haven't dyed my hair in about 10 years and decided it was time. I'm a new mom, and I came in and told Heather I want to look "fabulous and not exhausted." Heather talked me through all the different options, answered all my questions, and gave me very clear suggestions. I ended up getting balayage with caramel coloring for my pitch black hair and I couldn't be more amazed. I actually felt tears coming out when she was done.

The place is bright, clean, and everyone is so friendly. I have finally found my hair salon!

Update as of 12/9/2018: I went to Lena to get a balayage color because I loved her work online and wowee wow she did a wonderful job! She really listened to what I wanted and made suggestions and again was thorough in explaining the process. She really took her time and you can tell she loves what she does. She is truly an artist with color and has an eye for color. I would highly recommend her!! The pictures I uploaded don't even do it justice. In real life it's even more stunning. I went to the mall right after the color and three people told me they loved my hair color! Thanks Lena!

I had one of the best salon experiences today at Fulham Salon. I called this morning and by amazing luck got an appointment same day. Kaylie is an absolute doll and perfectionist. I had the vaguest idea of the cut I wanted and she exceeded my 'vision' by a mile. And as I headed out for a coffee and shopping afterwards I received compliments from complete strangers!

The stylist level hair stylist (the level above jr. stylist) was incredible. She was warm and inviting, especially toward someone who is anxious about hair cuts. Although I only wanted a trim, she made my hair look fantastic and framed my face perfectly. I would recommend her, and if you check her out on Instagram (@hairbyhcx13) it is easy to see she is extremely talented!

Overall a little pricey, but honestly it was very worth it and I would go back again!

I had a really good experience. Heather is a great stylist and did a wonderful job with my highlights and cut. She was friendly and easy to talk to and gave me good tips about how to take care of my hair. I highly recommend Heather and I will definitely be going back.

If your looking to get a balayage, Lena is your girl!! I've gotten my hair done by her twice now and have loved the color both times. She helped me get the perfect blond color to add to my hair and really spent the time being meticulous with the brush when she painted it on. She even stayed late at the salon to take the extra time with my hair. I can go months without having to get it colored again which is great because it is prettttty pricey... however you do get a 20% off first time.

So happy with my haircut! Heather is an amazing stylist who did a beautiful job with my hair. It looks fresh and revived. She also is extremely knowledgeable about her work and was a pleasure to talk to. The salon is very conveniently located and is open on Sundays. I definitely will be returning!

Lena is absolutely amazing! If you have the option, pick her for your stylist. She really listened to what my preferences were but also gave me her professional opinion. Thuy is one of the best stylists on earth.
I have very straight hair that is actually hard to cut properly without having something stick out in odd directions the next day. Each time Thuy cut my hair, it laid down properly and looked great for a very long time- the sign of an excellent cut.

I understand Thuy is no longer at Fulham, and I miss her terribly. She is an extremely talented individual, and if I ever won the lottery, she'd be on my personal staff for life!

I booked an appointment with Katelyn after seeing her amazing work on instagram (her handle is @loveyourstylist if you want to see some of her work). Katelyn took my hair to new heights with a balayage and I have never had such an incredible experience at a salon before. My hair looks amazing and I am in love with it!! Katelyn has such great attention to detail and is an absolute expert in the field. Appointments with her book up quickly and for good reason! She is the best hair stylist I've ever had. 10/10 recommend and can't wait to go back for another visit!

Wonderful skilled stylists at fun clean salon. I've had multiple haircuts and color by multiple stylists. Everyone-starting with the people who answer the phone and check you in, to the stylists-are friendly and professional. One time I had an appointment with a junior stylist that was switched to a senior stylist and they called to update me about the switch since it would be more expensive, made sure it was OK. Highly recommend.

Saw Kaylie today super last minute and loved it! She was great at making me feel comfortable and asked the questions that I needed to answer to give me the cut and color I so desperately needed! I am absolutely obsessed with my hair, and am excited to return to see her for my regular appointments from here on out! The scheduling was clear, my appointment was on time, and the variety of clientele expressed that anyone could feel at home here. So glad to have found this great place

I've been going to Fulham for about 4 years now, and have had cuts by a few different stylists. Always good with the appointment reminders and communication in general, the salon operates on schedule, which I appreciate. Cuts and color are good, with consistency being the key for me.

Lena is an amazing hair stylist. I went to her after many failed attempts to get my hair a beautiful Platinum blonde. Lena is very easy to talk to fun and easy going she made me feel very comfortable. She has great attention to detail making sure not only that my hair color was perfect but also that my hair was in great Condition even better than when I initially arrived. I would highly recommend her and give her a 5 star rating thank you Lena!

Got a pretty good haircut here after making an appointment on short notice. Not terribly cheap, but there was a discount for first-timers. I was a bit wishy washy with what I was looking for and ended up with more cut off than I would have ideally liked, but that's probably my fault for being noncommittal. Overall I am adapting well to my new short coif, in part because my stylist spent a long time explaining how to build volume etc. while blowing out my hair -- really appreciate that attention to teaching!

I have been coming to Fulham for 5+ years and I really love this salon. It has such a wonderful inviting positive vibe. The staff work together so well as a team. Katelyn is the best ever at color as well as cuts! Location is so convenient to Newton Center MBTA stop. There is parking available in the back and WiFi. Excellent experience as always!

I got Keratin Bond extensions done with Shalena aka Lena in July and been waiting to leave a review to see how they hold up.

After my pregnancy my hair got much thinner and was damaged from a lot of processing. I have had to keep it short to get rid of dead ends and because it takes so long to grow I always dreamed of extensions but been afraid of them looking fake and not blending well. I wanted them long but not so long that they look fake. Lena suggested 14" because I'm 5 feet of height therefore it would be down to my breast. I was nervios they would be too short but they are perfect! She also suggested I got them in the next shade down from black that way they blend as my hair fades since I dye it black. Before I did the extensions I go a hair cut and toned by Lena.

Like anything at the beginning it takes time to get used to. They felt heavy and it felt uncomfortable to sleep. Now I can't think of not having them. I style them straight, curly, up in a pony tail and you can't see the bonds. She did a great job on the placement. Is now been 1.5 months and only 2 bonds have slide down which I'm sure is my fault because I don't always do a braid to sleep as advised and one time I forgot I wasn't supposed to condition my roots so don't do it!

Lena checked in with me a few days after and a month after to see how they were doing. I love her professionalism and attention to detail. The salon itself I feel like it could have a nicer look but everyone is nice and everything is clean which is what matters. Pricing wise is average for a salon in Newton. I'm very satisfied with the service!

I have gone here twice, booking the cheaper haircuts (not the senior stylist, but I guess just the regular stylists?). Regular hair cut is $60 and you have to have cash for tip...

Gabby helped me most recently. She was awesome; thorough, nice, and a good listener! Love this place so far.

Got keratin bond extensions from Shalena. AMAZING! I've had extensions for years, and he is one of the best in Boston (and it's her specialty!)

Salon was great and I was appreciative on how efficiently she worked. She suggested a quick toner halfway through to ensure they would blend - and now I have celebrity-worthy hair!

Make sure to ask for Shalena, you won't be disappointed!

Terry did my balayage- I had never colored my hair before and she helped me figure out what would look good. We did the color, but it turned out darker than I would have liked. Terry was great though and offered to add in some more color and I love the way it turned out!

I am not one for writing reviews on yelp but I have been so pleased with Igor for the past 18 months that I thought I should tell other people about his salon. I have left Paris 10 years ago and never found a hair dresser that I like since. Went to the fanciest salons in London where I lived for a while, then several salons in Boston, and not once did I go back to someone. Then Igor. I don't know how he does it but he understands exactly what I want, no matter how cryptic my description. Namely "I want a cut that looks great with volume (I have straight hair....), a cut that requires me to do nothing for it to look great because I mostly won't dry my hair (or only occasionally), I want the layers to fall in place perfectly and make some natural curls/movements and I would like you to cut my hair without affecting its overall length please". I don't know how he does it but I always walk away from the salon with perfectly layered hair and I get lots of compliments for something that's completely effortless to me. I am not French for no reason I guess :-). Thanks Igor, you're the best!!

I had gotten a bad short hair cut at another salon, uneven and really heavy with no shape. I called Fulham at 12:30 on a Saturday and they had a 4pm opening. Great! When I got there I was introduced to Rachel. She took her time going through the hair cut to even it out and make it stylish again. She is very skilled and easily fixed my problem. Much appreciated!

I have been to her about 3 times and always get what I want. She also used Olaplex which I highly recommend paying the extra price , it's worth it. My hair was damaged when I went in and came out better after the highlights.

The receptionist and the rest of the staff are friendly.

I had a great experience with their master stylist Katelyn. I went in 30mins late (I went to their other location in Wellesley. But the staff in Wellesley was really nice and called newton location on my behalf while giving me directions) Katelyn asked and listened to me. I went in with a semi-disastrous hair, made it really difficult for her to use her skills as she has limited hair length and style to work with. But she did a great job cutting my hair and making sure I like every stage of it. My hair now is in a much better condition! I am thinking about going back for coloring, she suggested a non-bleach coloring technique that I am interested to try!

Before I moved to Boston I used the same hair stylist for nearly 10 years. Finding a new place is a little nerve wracking; however, I stumbled across Fulham salon yesterday and loved it! They were able to get me in the same day and the overall service was amazing. Rachel asked a lot of questions to make sure she gave me exactly what I wanted and I could not be happier. She matched my color flawlessly and gave me a great new cut that has lots of volume, but is still super easy to mange in the morning. I highly recommend this salon for both the customer service and the quality of the stylists. I already booked my next appointment!

I came in feeling really anxious about making a drastic change to my hair, Grace made me feel completely welcome and comfortable, and even made peppermint tea to calm my nerves! She really took time talking through the changes I wanted, and made sure to go over everything more than once before doing anything to my hair. Grace stopped several times throughout the haircut to see how I was doing, and explained everything she did as she went. She offered tons of tips on hair care and styling in a way that was genuine and helpful, and didn't make me feel judged for the way I normally treat my hair. I was also really impressed at the team work I saw among the staff, everyone was treating one another with so much kindness, which made the overall environment of the salon feel that much more comfortable and welcoming. There aren't enough words to express how pleased I was with this experience, and particularly with Grace, she is a wonderfully talented individual and Fulham Salon is lucky to have her. I can't wait to be back!

I have always had trouble committing to a stylist. I have gone to tons of different salons, particularly for cuts. This is the first salon/stylist to keep me coming back. I have been going to Jenny in the Newton location since summer of 2016. She has colored and cut my hair exactly how I like it and how my thick, wavy hair needs to be cut. I have run some crazy hair ideas by her and she is always honest about how much work, and possible damage I would be risking if I tried them. I appreciate her honest opinion. I recently had her cut off 4 inches and it looks even better than the photos I had shown her. I will continue to come back here and have even referred my mom to Jenny, because she seems to know exactly what to do with our thick hair. Her sweet and funny personality also help my time go by quickly. I can tell that she is a perfectionist in her work and I truly appreciate it :)

This place is fantastic. It is completely worth the money, and has a really fun, vibrant atmosphere. Katherine is fantastic, she is extremely talented and you can really tell she enjoys what she does. She always listens to what you ask, and offers ideas and suggestions to help ensure you achieve your best look. I have referred a couple of friends to her, and will continue to do so, as everyone asks where I have been getting my hair done. A+ WORK!

I've been to the Newton location a bunch of times and they're amazing and I've never had my hair cut by the same person twice. I usually go 3-6 months between haircuts (I'm lazy) so I never remember the name of the last person who cut my hair.

I always get exactly what I've asked for and then some, they really take the time to listen to what you want and continuously check in throughout the process to make sure they're on track. Everyone at Fulham is professional, friendly and uber talented. Keep on keepin' on!

After moving out to the suburbs from Boston I searched and searched for a hair salon. I went through a few, that charged more than when I went to James Joesph Salon on Newbury!, but weren't as good. When I heard that Fulham Salon was opening in Newton I was thrilled. I see Alex who does a fantastic job on my hair. She's done color, cut and blow-dry and my hair looks great. I've always been able to get parking right in front of the salon and Chris has even run out to feed my meter for me when it's been running low.

I've been back to Salon Fulham three times and will never stray. The place is cool, trendy, and even streams a London radio station throughout the place! (I lived in London for a while so it's great nostalgia). Igor (owner) gives the best haircuts and I've never been complimented more on my new color (went from foiled blonde highlights to more natural brown single process). He is so precise and takes his time...you can tell he really enjoys what he does and takes pride in it. He has so much talent...we surely are lucky to have him in Newton Center!

Chris and Igor are fantastic!!!! I arrived a little late for my 9AM appt but was nonetheless greeted warmly by both at the wide open door. The salon is a long open space with lots of light flowing in and great upbeat music playing. Chris listened attentively as I told him my thoughts on my color. He brought me a coffee that is hands down the best coffee I have ever had in a salon. I know I am not here to rate the coffee but if they pay such attention to the coffee, imagine what your hair will look like. I wasn't wrong. He did a root touch up instead of changing my whole color and I was really pleased. Igor washed my hair out and the scalp massage was spectacular. I used a coupon from ButWithMe as my introduction but would gladly go back and pay their full price. I don't treat myself often and this would be a treat. I can't wait until I need a haircut! Parking in the large lot in Newton Center was a great convenience. I Highly recommend Fulham Salon.

Christopher cut my hair and did an incredible job - but he not only did a great job, he was nice, friendly, and was there to make sure I had the cut I wanted. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and I would've stayed just to chat with them if I had had the time.

I'm a recent college grad with not much to spend - this was the most expensive cut I've ever had. I usually operate with a 'cheaper the better' policy but I'm glad I put in the little bit more for this cut.

Go here - it's well worth your time and money. And you'll leave feeling great.

(to comment on Igor's note - the salon was very reasonably priced. Just for a college grad used to paying $15, it was more than those places. BUT that said, I'm glad I paid more than my 'usual.' I got a great haircut and it was a great salon experience. My days of dealing with shotty haircuts are for sure over!)

I really like this Salon! It's small, personal, easily accessible, and they do a great job! I have been going to Alex for about a year now, and she's great. I only do haircuts, but I have used a few of the products she has reccomended because I trust her opinion.

I went to the the Fulham salon because I saw a coupon and was intrigued with the salon since it had good reviews on Yelp. Christopher cut my hair and I've gotten so many compliments I had to come back to yelp and add a good review for him. His coworkers were so impressed with how he was cutting my hair I felt like I was in a hair show or something. Then when I got on with real life I was complimented on this new style to the extent that his oworkers all said I would. It's easy to work with and the only way I could be happier is if he did my hair every morning. I think I'll add bangs next time I go back. Thanks Christopher!

I treated myself to a wash and blowdry yesterday at a super fancy salon on Newbury (sorry Fulham, I was on a very tight timeline and was coming from downtown Boston!) and the stylist, who seemed extremely knowledgable and experienced, kept commenting on how wonderful they looked. He asked me who had done them and said that this should be taken as high praise coming from one stylist to another. Almost two months later and my highlights still look awesome (AND my hair grows crazy fast) - Thanks again Katelyn!

I have been looking for a salon close to my house that could deal with my quirky thick hair. After reading several reviews about Fulham, I decided to give them a try. I emailed them to see if they had any evening appointments and received a quick response back- they had an opening. I was early and the receptionist was super nice. She made sure I was comfortable. Twee was my stylist- she is fantastic. She made me feel right at home and made sure she knew what I wanted before she started to cut. If you are looking for a great salon at a decent price in newton, I highly recommend Fulham.

I really liked it! I went with a coupon first, really because I was desperate and anything was better than that haircut I had. Kaitlyn took me and I told her what everyone is afraid to tell any hairstylist ... " what do you think is best, what do you suggest? do whatever you like" and she just went on and on, scissors here and there, chatting and cutting and styling and then BOOM! Magically impressive, I loved it, and absolutely love it! I am doing highlights in a month and pretty much whatever she recommends. She made my head with that spin of modern, stylish casual haircut. I really liked it and recommend it. Now everyone is asking me where I cut my hair and I am not telling to many people otherwise they might get expensive... ;-)
**Oh and this is the first place I felt they actually get along with each other** ... and the Tea is really good! ... and the massage too... and I bought the shampoo and I liked it.

I love Fulham Salon - I am so glad I decide to check them out. My stylist, Alex, is wonderful. She tells me what will work on me and what won't and I trust her 100%. She has the has given me the best highlights I have ever had. The cut, blow dry and styling are always exactly what I was hoping for. The staff is great and welcoming. I would recommend Fulham Salon and particularly Alex to anyone.

Friendly and accommodating staff. We were offered coffee or tea upon our arrival as well as a 20% off discount for being a first-time customer. My sister has been here several times and she has always been happy with her haircut. They listen to what you want as the customer but are knowledgeable and able to offer good suggestions as well. It is $55 ($44 with the discount) for a cut, but it is worth it. They also provide a luxurious head massage when they shampoo and condition your hair before the cut. I left satisfied with my haircut and the level of service provided. I would recommend this place to a friend for sure.

I recently bought a livingsocial coupon for this salon. Based on the reviews I read below I figured Katelyn was the person I wanted styling my hair - I was right! She was fabulous. Easily one of the best haircuts I've ever received. She took the time to listen to my description of what I wanted. She also provided me with explanations on why she was blow drying my hair a certain way and tips on how I could do it myself. She was wonderful and I had a great experience at this salon.

The atmosphere is simple and comfortable, not very pretentious like some of the more expensive salons. Katelyn gave me a trim, and fixed my layers and bangs. I thought she did a great job explaining what products she was using and why. She also always asked me about everything before she was about to do it. I think that's important (not a big fan of surprises when it comes to my hair!!). Overall, I was happy with my hair when I left and will most likely be back!

I am a longtime client of Igor Vasilijuk's who is the owner/Director of Fulham Salon. I found him on a whim when he was on Newbury Street and my regular stylist couldn't fit me in. I love his hair cuts. I find myself staring at every reflective surface I come across for days after he has cut my hair.

I trust him completely. I sometimes take photos for inspiration of cuts from magazines, his judgement is always significantly better than what I think I want. As he is able to touch my wavy/curly hair and discuss maintenance, daily styling time and products, he gives me a beautiful haircut that is feasible for my lifestyle.
My favorite aspect of his cut is that it grows in beautifully.

Tending to clients around the world- from London to LA, he has dreamed for years and worked hard to open his own salon. Also being a part of the Wella hair product line he and the entire salon staff are continually educating themselves on the newest techniques and technology of the industry.

I truly love the experience of sitting in his chair for my haircut...and the joy it gives me for a long time afterwards of having gorgeous hair!

i went here because i got a deal on living social, and i work in the area. i was scheduled on the day and time that i requested and they put me with Twee because they said she is great with layering. the salon is sparkly clean and very nice atmosphere, also everyone in the place greeted me with a nice smile and a hello. loved Twee and love my new haircut and the way she blew it dry- and i never like the way anyone blow dries my hair ( i must be picky!) anyway, i will be back to Twee!

For some reason salons can be intimidating to walk into, they seem to specialize in crappy receptionists with attitudes....
NOT THIS ONE! When you enter THIS salon you are greeted by a charming girl, with a big smile and totally sweet personality. Igor is the owner and quite fab. I felt completely comfortable and LOVE LOVE my haircut!

I recently had a cut with Igor, the owner of Fulham Salon, and it was a great experience. He took the time to listen to what I didn't like about my current cut and what I wanted. He was professional, skilled, gave me a great cut, explained what he was doing, and made sure I liked it every step of the way.

The salon was easy to get to, friendly, completely without pretense, relaxed and generally a nice place to spend time. I will return!

Fulham is great. I've been seeing Alex for almost a year now for color and the occasional cut. She's fantastic. Very professional, talented, and always on time. In general, I don't love going to salons but I truly enjoy my time with Alex and the staff at Fulham. The salon is the perfect size and never too loud or overcrowded. Their assistant D is wonderful as well. Highly recommend this place. Compared to other local salons - the price is very reasonable. Go see Alex!

Thank you, Alex! Went to Fulham Salon for the first time last week after purchasing a Living Social voucher. Everyone at the salon was really warm and friendly. Alex spent time with me before the cut to find out what I was looking for and to make suggestions. She also taught me some of her styling tricks so I would be able to do my hair at home. Alex was very sweet and easy to talk to, and I love my haircut!

I have been to Alex twice now and both times left SUPER happy with my cut and color! She managed to pull off exactly what i wanted! The salon is clean, bright, comfortable and professional. Everyone who works there is friendly and personable, it's like you are old friends even if it's your first visit. I had been cutting my own hair for 8 years and was soooo nervous to let someone else take over...but she won me over...I will definitely continue to go there for my cuts and color

Igor has been cutting my hair for many years and I have always been amazed at how great I look and feel when he's finished. I've never stayed with one stylist for so long. I have very fine hair, thin at the front and a great big forehead--without a great haircut I can look like pretty bad. He cuts a fantastic bob that always falls perfectly with minimal styling on my part (okay, I just wash it and let it dry). I've had a couple of very short layered cuts and they have also been very flattering and complimentary, even as they grow out. This is a great place for a great haircut from a wonderfully knowledgeable stylist without any of that Newbury Street upscale attitude.

Christopher cut and colored my hair this week for the first time. He is fabulous. I am pick when it comes to stylists but he exceeded my expectations in every way. The cut is so good that it requires little effort when styling. I have received a lot of compliments. Would highly recommend him. Truly talented!

After a horrendous hair cut at a mediocre salon...Igor from Fulham salon swooped in and saved the day! This place oozes professionalism from its well-trained stylists to its chic interior. It is definitely worth the price, and I would recommend anyone who goes there to ask for Igor. He is a true artist and knows what he's doing.

Got my hair cut by Kaylie and it was a wonderful experience! She was super nice and did exactly what I wanted. Will definitely be coming back for her. The receptionist could've been nicer.. didn't smile and wasn't loud enough to hear over the hair dryers. It didn't ruin my experience, but it was annoying.

Grace is very talented did a great job on my hair when I was there last week. I assume Igor is the owner since he made a little sarcastic remark about my being "unimpressed" when I walked in. Yes, I was, I'm sorry. It is just not what I would expect going to a salon in Newton Center. Just to clarify, there is nothing wrong with this one. It's just a place I've driven by it many times and never noticed. It just never stood out. Fortunately Grace's talent changed that. I was thrilled the way she did my hair. If you're insulted by my comment, maybe I didn't explain it well the first time or perhaps u are a bit self-conscious about it.

I have had a LOT of services at this salon - a hair cut with Katelyn (which I loved and didn't take forever nor cost the earth), highlights with several stylists (all great) and, most recently, two lots of hair extensions with Lena. I cannot write enough good things about all the experiences. Lena is a true artist, extremely talented and knowledgeable. Hair extensions are relatively new for the salon from what I have understood and I believe Lena is (one of?) the only stylist(s) who does them. She is so much fun to chat to, very considerate of time constraints (I have two young kids so don't have forever to sit there - who does?!) and works with such outstanding precision with amazing results. I've always struggled to grow my hair and Lena has given me the long, natural-looking hair I've always wanted. I have had endless compliments and have recommended her to anyone looking for a quality, talented and thoroughly nice hair stylist.

This was my first time at Fulham Salon and I could not be more pleased with the friendly stylists and outstanding results. Grace took so much time with my blonde highlights, making sure each foil was just right. She kept checking the color and removed some foils before others. What a terrific salon, and the prices are reasonable too. Easy street parking.

Amazing! Short cut...I relocated from Chicago almost one year ago, and was at the point where I would just grow my hair after a string of really bad hair cuts. I am now feeling like I have found my spot!! Christopher was amazing! Listened to me and corrected the previous wrongs!

So I was on the lookout for a new salon and it had been over a year and a half since my last haircut so I needed to go somewhere ASAP. My sister recommended me this salon and I'm so happy I came here!

I had Meredith and she was honestly so amazing. I would have to say that she's probably one of the best hair stylists I've ever had. She's so sweet and listened to all of my questions and concerns. I had a very outgrown balayage and she helped me transform it into the most beautiful charcoal color. She only cut my hair about three inches like I had requested and cut it beautifully too! I highly recommend her if you're thinking of coming here!

Absolutely love this salon. I've seen Katelyn, Rachel, and Marisa (Missy). They're all incredibly talented artists and genuinely want to give you the best experience. I'm giving this salon 5 Stars because last time I was here I had an unfortunate experience. I was going blonde for summer and this was my third process (first two times with Rachel). Third time with Missy and sad to say, but I had pasta hair because the bleach was possibly left on too long (maybe too high of a developer?). While I was pretty devastated, but tried my absolutely best to hide it Missy was 100% honest about the situation. She apologized and was incredibly sincere about it. She wasn't rude about it or tried to pull a "I told you so" move for going blonde (I'm Asian with basically black hair and have gone dark then light and back). I could tell she was very bothered by the mistake and she didn't hesitate to take full responsibility for it. She is also human and mistakes happen. Granted rude comments were made to me by the people on the streets of Boston such as "chicken little hair", "mullet head", and "'mushroom cut" - But I just shrug them off and give them a perfectly manicured middle finger and tell them to shove it up their rears twice til Sunday, but that's besides the point. The professionalism, hospitality, and genuine kindness that Missy displayed in the situation was something I could forgive and would still go back to her for. And that goes for Katelyn and Rachel and the other employees standing in that building. They exude such a strong passion for their career and it illuminates through the building. These professionals deserve 5 OUTSTANDING STARS.

After a poor experience at my last salon, I yelped forever (i mean forever) to make sure I would make the right decision the next time I dye my hair, which is where I stumbled upon Fulham. Marissa dyed my hair, and was extremely patient. I told her what color I wanted, and it came out perfectly. She knows what she is doing. Great service, happy environment. Definitely recommend Marissa/Fulham! Am most likely sticking with this salon :)

Got a great blowout and style from Rachel on Friday. The salon was able to fit me in last minute, and Rachel did a phenomenal job - I wanted to look great but not like I tried, lol - and she achieved it. The style is still going strong a few days later thanks to the help of some dry shampoo.

Until I started getting haircuts from Missy here at Fulham Salon, I used to cut my own hair because stylists never knew how to handle my curls and always ended up giving me a mullet. Missy not only does an amazing job of cutting and styling my hair (no more self-administered haircuts for me!), but she's incredibly friendly, cheerful, and fun to talk to. I always look forward to my appointments with her and am always very pleased when I leave.

Everyone at Fulham is great. From the receptionist to the owner, every employee goes out of his/her way to ensure each client has the best experience possible.

That being said, I cannot say enough about how AMAZING Marissa (Missy) is. I've always had haircut anxiety, and cutting 1 inch always felt like cutting 7. On Marissa's advice, I agreed to go a lot shorter than I have since I was 10, and it came out fantastic. Marissa explained everything she was doing to me and I'm so glad I put my trust in her for both my cut and color (balyage). I really recommend you book a service with Marissa, not only will you walk out looking (and - arguably more importantly - feeling great), you will also thoroughly enjoy spending time with her.

I came to Fulham salon with a terrible blonde dye job. After reading several great yelp reviews I headed in with a baseball cap on my head. My hair was basically orange, and I was in a panic. Then I met my one and only hair guru, my wizard, the amazing Marisa!!! This woman transformed my hair. She always put a fun twist on my blonde each time I came in. She is incredibly detailed and actually listens to what you want and works with you to get that. The salon is very cute and everyone is always friendly. Glass of wine, anyone ;) I always feel so welcome and taken care of there. I cannot say enough good things about Marisa and Fulham salon. If you are searching for an unbelievable stylist to give you GORGEOUS color and fun cuts you absolutely need to make an appointment with Marisa.

I have been an avid fan of Fulham Salon for several years now. Missy has been my go-to hair guru for the past three years and I trust her with every look and style I ask for. She is a miracle color worker. She creates the most elegant, natural balayage I've ever had. I have so much confidence in her and her beautiful work. She will take any style or color you choose and make it work so well - she takes into consideration so many aspects that other stylists do not - complexion, root color, growth, fading. She is incredibly talented. Missy is so incredibly personable too! She is so easy to talk to, no awkward conversations about the weather, just pure delightful chats. Her energy is magnetic and I always walk out of the salon feeling (and looking) my best! I highly recommend this gem of a stylist!

This place is an A+ salon. It is always clean and bright, and all of the employees are true professionals. Katelyn is a miracle worker with color! And she LISTENS to what you want (with cut and color) and executes brilliantly.

So I don't really write reviews, but I must insist on writing this one bc I found this place thro these reviews and had been watching them come in for the last 6 mos. I called this morning and they were kind enough to squeeze me in this afternoon. I got there early to watch them work and see what they were capable of doing on the customers that were already in the chair so if in fear I could just say never mind and leave. However, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and I am the kind of person who has not been to a salon in maybe 12 yrs bc of my fear of them chopping my locks off. NOW I AM A PERSON W HAIRCUT ANXIETY and as I sat there waiting, the staff was very nice, offered me water or coffee, but do to my anxiety I had to pass. When Christopher, the stylist doing my hair, came over to talk to me he asked how I was and honestly, I said I am having a serious panic attack, he was so sweet. He sat down with me and asked me what I wanted to do with my hair and calm me down very nicely. As soon as he started washing my hair in preparation to cut, I instantly felted relaxed. I can't say enough of how HAPPY I AM W MY HAIR AND Christopher . He did an AMAZING job on my hair and it feels like it has life back to it, which it hasn't had for a while. Now I also have curly hair, so I needed the cut. I am going to continue to follow Christopher for my hair care. I am very very happy with this place. For me it's baby steps on my hair and build that trust in my stylist. I felt that today w Christopher. Now if your anything like me your reading these reviews to feel some comfortability in finding the one place that will not take away your confidence that your lovely locks gives you. I can tell you for sure I would definitely give this place a try. You have to tell them what you want, what your looking for and how you want you hair, that's the only way any stylist can help you. No one knows your hair better than you. You must communicate that for best results. Their pricing is on the lil high side, but for what I get in return, I am OK with that. I believe other places I watched were around the same pricing. VERY VERY PLEASED W THIS PLACE AND CHRISTOPHER. I WILL BE BK IN 8 WEEKS FOR TRIM. THANKS SO MUCH CHRISTOPHER.

This place is great. Receptionists are so friendly, the space is always clean and comfortable. Jenny has been cutting my hair for almost a year and she's fantastic! They also have a bunch of deals when you're a new client, I think I got discounts when I rebooked the first two times- baller!

I've been coming here regularly since 2013 and Fulham always hit the mark. I recently had to change stylists since Milo left to go to the Wellesley location. When I first heard about the change, I had a small panic attack since he always knew what I wanted and executed it perfectly even when I had a vague idea of how it should be. I was paired up with Meredith and all my concerns were put to rest. She did a great job and gave me a ton of tips on how to style and wear my hair for all occasions. Unless I move far away, I don't think I can ever not go to Fulham for my hair needs.

I saw Kate for a full balayage and she did a great job! I was a first time client and she really took the time to ask me questions and figure out my color. I have a lot of hair and Kate worked on me for five hours! I always feel bad putting colorists through that much work but Kate stayed positive the whole time and didn't stop until we had the color I was looking for. Not to mention the rest of the staff were super friendly and fun. Thanks, Kate!

Lena cut my hair and I am very happy with my hair and my overall experience at Fulham Salon. I don't have my hair cut often (it had been a year and a half since my last cut), so I sometimes have trouble putting into words how I want my hair cut. Lena was very sweet and responsive, and she was able to understand exactly what I was looking for very easily.

The salon itself is clean and well-kept. I booked the appointment online through Yelp, which was easy and convenient. I would recommend this salon, and stylist Lena, to anyone!

I went to Fulham Salon to get a perm. I had very flat, straight hair and I wanted something new and fun and bouncy! Christopher did an incredible job and I could not be happier. He was meticulous in his execution and did a cleanup cut after to give it an optimal shape. The process is long, but during it everyone was very accommodating. I just got my hair done again by the fabulous Katelyn and I really just couldn't be happier! Every other month I look forward to going to Fulham Salon to get my foil/trim and it's honestly the highlight of my weekend. I have been going to Katelyn for my hair for many many years(including two years when I lived across the country but still managed to make an appointment every time I was back in Boston) I used to just trim my hair but then a few years ago I slowly started to add a little color. I'm naturally brunette but after some patient discussion, Katelyn advised me on some subtle options for highlights. Three years later I have slowly added more and more color and I absolutely love it! No bleach, just color.

Everything about my experience at Fulham Salon is always top notch. From walking through the door and being eagerly greeted by Michael to sitting in the chair chatting with Katelyn and the other awesome stylists, to getting shampoo/conditioned by the always friendly assistants, to the trim, blowout and finishing touches by Katelyn. Every time I leave the salon, I walk out feeling like a model.

I have recommended Katelyn to many friends and family who have all started going to see her for their regular hair appointments and are all just as thrilled as I am. She's simply the best!

I'm new to the area and took advantage of the $40 for $60 special on Yelp at Fulham Salon. When I called to make the appointment a young woman answered the phone like it was her cell phone and I had the wrong number...she answered "Yea? Hello?" Hilarious, but it did make me nervous what kind of place this was.
When I called the day of the appointment because I was struggling to find parking and was therefore a few minutes late the guy who answered was very professional and helpful.
Lena cut my hair and she was FANTASTIC. I have a short cut so it always makes me nervous to try a new stylist because if they get it wrong, what do I do? Shave my head?
Lena was wonderful--listened to everything I tried to relay from my last stylist, asked questions throughout the entire cut to make sure she was learning how my hair behaves and what I was comfortable with. We also had a lovely conversation about...well, life. She is also new to the area and getting to know Boston and build her clientele. She's very down-to-earth, wanting to make her customers happy, while not trying to oversell products and such. Some stylists are 'salesman' and shower you with talk about the salon, their fancy products, etc. Lena was thankfully not that type at all AND she did a great job on my hair.

Only reason not to give the 5th star is it's a little pricy. Is the salon worth it? YES. I'm just not sure I can afford to go back, sadly. I was told upon leaving that Lena's price would increase (and she deserves it! She's great) to $70. It's just a little steep for me at the moment.

I really couldn't have had a better salon experience! I came in yesterday very unsure about what I wanted (first time coloring my hair in 8ish years) and talked through options with Katelyn until we landed on the right color and cut. She was very patient with me, not pushy, and asked enough questions that we really landed on something I was confident in ("a dramatic sombr"). The color/cut itself took about 4 hours, but it flew by. Katelyn talked me through everything she was doing, and made me feel really comfortable along the way. When she finished, there was one small strand of hair she wasn't happy with, so she took extra time to go back in and touch it up to make everything look perfect. I left so happy with how my hair looks, and booked my next appointment right away.

In addition, everyone at the salon was so friendly and welcoming. The reception desk attendant (Michael) was so helpful when booking my appointment and during my time at the salon. Definitely recommend coming here!

I went in a few weeks ago for a blow out. Tery was amazing. My hair is extremely difficult and she made it look amazing. Not only did it look and feel great but she also told me how to sleep on it so I could get the most out of it.

After deciding one lunch break that I needed a haircut TODAY, I found Rachel and Fulham Salon through Yelp reviews, and I'm so glad that I did! She has since given me 2 great cuts and fresh balayage highlights. She is super confident with her skills which made me comfortable to try a shorter 'do - my cut looked cute the day she cut it, and still looks great as it grows out (no awkward phase!!).

Tery-Thank you for the fabulous job you did! I have long, curly hair that during humid days gets really frizzy. It's been almost a week and my hair is not only still straight, but still looks and feels fresh and clean. I don't know what products you used, but they are amazing. Thank you and I look forward to my next appt.

I should also mention that everyone in the salon were not only nice, but very accomodating. I'm a new mom and my son was being lovingly watched while I had my hair washed and Tery was very patient while I had to feed him.

Kaylie - thank you so much for my beautiful blow-out! I've been to some blow-out chains and other salons in the area, but the work you did has been my favorite by far. (And my hair is down to the middle of my back, very thick, and wavy, so takes a lot of work!) My hair had so much movement, shine, and bounce that I got a ton of compliments. Best of all, the look lasted for three days! You are also so sweet and it was really relaxing to sit in your chair.

I ended up at Fulham Salon because I needed to fix a terrible choppy and brassy "ombre" that I had gotten done at another salon. I called Fulham saying that I needed their most experienced colorist, because I knew that my hair needed a lot of help. I was lucky enough to score an appointment with Igor, who fixed my hair beyond my wildest expectations.

I was expecting to have to come in for multiple sessions, but he made my hair look amazing in a short 2-3 hours. It went from a totally botched choppy and brassy ombre, to a beautifully blended balagyne. I'm still in shock that he was able to fix my hair in ONE session! He is the perfect combination of listening to what you want, and giving his professional opinion on the best route to go. Fulham is definitely my new salon, and I would recommend Igor to anyone. He is AMAZING!

Yes I'm reviewing Fulham again. Because it's THAT good. I got a cut and color today from Marissa and she BLEW my mind. I actually don't think I've ever looked this good before. It's the fist time I've colored my hair professionally and I could not have asked for a better experience. I can't wait to show my new hair off. I'm honestly amazed (and grateful).

Rachel did a phenomenal job coloring my hair. After I did a super shabby job of explaining what I was envisioning, she very patiently worked with me to figure it out and in the end I left feeling delighted with the results. I'll definitely be going back!

I recently moved to Massachusetts and did not have a regular salon to go to. I found Fulham Salon and made an appointment with Doritt. I had a pretty basic cut--shoulder length with no color and a few long layers. I wanted something drastic, like I had never done before, so I brought in some pictures and she did a FABULOUS job with it! A few months later I wanted to go even more drastic and cut the sides shorter to do a soft Mohawk. I absolutely love it. She also added bits of color each time and it has grown out beautifully between cuts- which if you have short hair is really important! I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about her-I will only be trusting her with my hair from here-on-out!

I love this salon! It is spotless, well-managed, and in a convenient location. My stylist, Erin, is just wonderful. She is very knowledgeable, professional, and listens to me while also offering suggestions. Erin makes each visit relaxing and treats me as if I'm the only client in the salon. I appreciate that. I must also mention Michael who runs the front desk. He is very friendly and efficient. He knew my name after my first visit and is very accommodating when it comes to finding an appointment on short notice. I would highly recommend Fulham Salon!

I had an amazing experience here! I have been going to the same salon and stylist for 28 years...and I'm only 29! Needless to say it was really hard for me to go somewhere else but really needed to find a more convenient location to home and work. I'm so happy with my experience here! Jenny was amazing and did my partial foil perfectly. The salon as a whole is just amazing. You are greeted with kindness, offered a beverage, and made comfortable from the moment you walk in. I will definitely be coming back (already have my appointment!).

I first visited Fulham Salon in 2014 after I purchased a Gilt coupon for a balayage. This was without a doubt the absolute best result and experience I've ever had in a salon.
Danielle did an exceptional job with the hand painting technique. So much that every time I got may hair done while traveling, ALL the stylists praised her work. (Some salons would even tried to take the credit)

After almost 2 years of not finding a stylist closer to home that was as skillful and talented as Danielle, I decided to pay the Fulham Salon a long time ought second visit.
To my great surprise (and to Fulham's benefit) Danielle has now been promoted to a senior stylist. She brought my hair back to life a second time and I can now say I found my stylist.

Thank you Fulham salon for being the kind of place that is welcoming, genuine and friendly. From the receptionist who scheduled my appointment over the phone (Michael?), he was so helpful and capable that reminded me of the Amex customer service, to my stylist Danielle who keeps being the greatest stylist.
Fulham is a breath of fresh air in an industry where most of the players this day are just too cool for the regular customers like me.

I used the Yelp $40 for $60 offer and tried this salon for the first time. I have gone to the same hairdresser since I was 16 so I was nervous to try a new place. I wanted to get Baylayge done for the first time and a haircut. I had Katelyn one of the master stylists and she was amazing! From the minute I walked in the door everyone was so friendly and the salon was very clean and had a great vibe! Katelyn listened to what I wanted and was very knowledgable when it came to color, technique, and products. She explained everything to me and answered my questions, it made me feel comfortable. My hair turned out awesome!!! I would recommend this salon to anyone and I plan on going back.

I came in here for an updo for a dance I had later that day, and Chris, my stylist, created a BEAUTIFUL hairstyle that not only was unique to and matched my dress, but also was so intricate and detailed. Chris really was amazing - he made sure not a single strand of hair was out of place, and put in so much detail and care to my hair the whole time. He made sure I was okay with what he was doing, and also has a great personality. I got soo many compliments on my hair during the dance, and even after 5 hours of dancing, my hair was still perfectly in place!!
The atmosphere is so friendly and I definitely plan on coming back. Seriously recommend this salon to everyone! You won't regret it!

I really like this salon and I feel like when it comes to salons (getting your haircut as a woman is expensive!), I am pretty picky. I have been back here 3 times so that's a testament to how much I like it!

All of the staff are really nice, they don't push products or other services on you, and they are really professional. Michael at the front desk is so kind and genuine. My stylist, Rachel, is awesome! We always have a great time chatting and she is one of the first people who when I explained my style was the first to get it right off the bat! My first cut with her was after a long time of not getting my haircut due to traveling and she brought it back to life. Since then, she's managed to refresh it each time I go in while still helping me grow it out.

All in all, can't recommend this place enough!

Greetings! Sadly, I needed to find a new stylist as my awesome stylist, Kim, is now over an hour drive from me now. Based on the many and positive yelp reviews, and the yelp deal!, I went in this past Sunday and had a wash, cut and blow dry with Marisa. I was extremely sensitive about it as I've had so many bad experiences trying new stylists :-(

I had long, straight black hair with overgrown layers and probably lots of split ends. Marisa is this hip, cool, fun woman who did great with my hair!!!

She had a discussion with me at first - asked what I wanted, gave me her suggestions, we discussed back and forth, she checked with me on the length to cut, told her I wanted to be able to put my front hairs behind my ear, that I wanted my hair layered and textured like crazy.

She cut the length first then started on the layers - not too much, not too little just enough for my long length.

After the blow dry, she had listened to me and detailed, layered, textured like crazy to my smiles yet she put the brake on overdoing it, which is what I need!

Anyhow, it was a great experience. I enjoyed talking with her, talking about hair and would definitely recommend her. She's got spunk and is a sweet person. I like that. Again, her name is Marisa.

On a side note, the salon was neat, but could be renovated. I enjoyed a nice cup of coffee. several salon products - moisturizer, volumizer, and shiner .... were used in my hair but I was not crazy about them. I've used better products IMHO. I'm not a big hair product so you decide.

I gave this a 4-star because I'm biased towards my previous stylist that I went to for over 10 years! Also, every time I saw her I left feeling amazing and beautiful like I could go to a gala with my hair!

I have bounced from salon to salon before now. I just had a wonderful cut from Doritt. She brought me back to something very simple and classic that works for my lifestyle and I can actually maintain. I plan to stay with Doritt moving forward for all my cuts and color.

I cannot say enough nice things about Fulham Salon and my amazing hairdresser, Rachel Fandel. One of my coworkers suggested I try Rachel last winter when I decided I wanted to go from medium brown to blonde, and wanted to do it right away. Rachel worked on my hair for over five hours and stayed past close to make sure her work was perfect. Since then she has recreated me as a platinum blonde, a red head, and back to a brunette. She always provides the perfect cut whether I'm getting ready for a job interview or just need a confidence boosting new style after a breakup. Not only does she take pride in her work to ensure all of her clients look amazing but she is a really great person and a lot of fun to talk with while you are having your hair cut and dyed!

The salon itself is very clean and everyone who works there is very friendly and outgoing. I have and will continue to recommend Fulham Salon and Rachel to friends, family, and coworkers!

I went to this salon on a Saturday morning. Erin was my stylist. She is very friendly and gave me one of the best hair cuts I've had in years. I'm used to hair dressers cutting off too much, cutting angles that we didn't agree to, etc. Erin was a breathe of fresh air. She let me know exactly how much I needed to take off in order to keep the cut healthy and did 'dusting' to take off split ends in other areas.

First let me say that yelp ratings helped me choose this last minute haircut spot on a Sunday. I needed a lift and I needed it today. Dorritt was wonderful. She really listened and have me exactly what I wanted. More than that, she made a stressful day less stressful and turned a shaggy 'do into a sassy one! I will be back.

If you want a relaxing experience and someone who pay close attention to details, then go see Milo. He is very talented and sweet. I always enjoy getting my haircuts and coloring done with him. :-)

Made and Appointment with Doritt and I love my hair. I was referred by a friend when I was visiting. Doritt knew how to handle my curly locks and gave me the cutest bob and soft blond highlights. ( it looks like I was born with this color). Not only is she super talented but she is a great person as well.) I only wish she was in my home city. Next time I am in MA. I waited to write this review to make sure I was not just experiencing the first hair cut honeymoon. But I have now had my hair cut twice by Marisa and I love it!!!! I have a short pixie which amazingly can be difficult to get right. But she got it right the first time and took direction really well. I used to go to an extremely expensive place on Newbury Street - I got great cuts. But why go there when I can get a great cut, with a friendly, pleasant stylist and salon staff, for a sane price??

Dorit is a wonderful stylist! I walked in wanting a trim and came out with warm brown highlights and an angle. Best of all, she knew what she was talking about and gave me what I wanted. Not a lot of people can do that 'cause I get really picky with my hair even for a trim. She has a great personality that you can rarely get in other salons and a great artist!
It's a small salon so you get all the attention and it's reasonably priced too! I'm picky about my hair but I definitely recommend this salon, especially if you get Dorit.

I got my haircut with Marisa. She was awesome! Great personality, very easy to talk to and made a great experience for me here. She was very thorough with my haircut. I think prices are definitely reasonable, around $40-60 plus tip. Seriously my go to spot for haircuts now!

I got my hair cut yesterday by Doritt and I think it may have been the best haircut I've ever gotten!

Admittedly, I haven't had that much experience with actual hair stylists because until about two years ago I had hair to my waist and only went to supercuts for trims with no shaping, but since I switched to a curly bob I've been going to more expensive places and finding it hard to find a stylist who can do the shape exactly right without making my hair look like a suburban mom (I'm 19) or a triangle. Doritt had ideas about the shape and I let her go with them and the cut is SO flattering. I just feel terrible that I didn't tip her because I was out of cash and didn't have time to go to an ATM. I will be back, though, and next time I'll tip her extra.

I am super picky about my hair and because I move around for jobs every couple of years ago, it can be really hard to find a salon with a stylist you trust.

I am so thankful that this was the first salon I picked three years ago. Danielle is absolutely amazing and does wonderful things with my super thick hair. She is very easy going and friendly, it makes the time just fly by! Now I am dreading my next move as I wish she could come with :)

The day after my appointment and I'm still smiling! This was my first visit to the salon. Danielle took care of my cut and color. She has a great, bubbly personality and really listened to what I was looking for. She also offered up tips and tricks for making sure my hair looked as great in the future as it did after she styled it. She didn't try to push additional products or services on me either. The entire experience was great - I'm looking forward to my return visit.

My friend recommended Fulham Salon when I was looking for a place to get a cut and change of color.  I'm naturally blonde and had a lot of brassy yellow going on.  I called and they got me in the same day- within an hour actually. Everyone at the salon was very friendly.  I didn't really know what I was looking for as far as color.  I just knew I wanted the ugly yellow gone and I wanted to brighten it up a bit.  Marisa suggested highlights and a toner.  She did an excellent job with the color and the cut, really paying attention to the details. Doritt from Fulham Salon is AMAZING!!

She was kind and patient while I described what I was looking for and then she was able to make it happen the very first time! I got a cut and partial highlight. My hair is extremely straight and layers can sometimes look choppy but she was able to cut it into a super flattering look that I don't even have to style in the morning. The best are the highlights, though. Beautiful, sparkly variations of color from blonde to auburn. No joke, she is an artist when it comes to color! I got three compliments at work the next day and it still looks great over a month later.

Basically, I found my go-to person on the very first try with Doritt. I will never have to look for another stylist with her around!

I really like another salon I visit regularly, but needed an appointment quickly and was able to get one at Fulham Salon on short notice.  My stylist was Milo and he did a really fantastic job with my highlight color and trim.   It turned out great and I was most impressed with the care he took in styling my hair. I have quite a mane.  I  would definitely recommend anyone to this salon...and to Milo specifically :)

This place is very pleasant and comfortable. I am so happy to find the perfect hair stylist that I was looking for many years. Chris is super professional hair stylist and does an amazing job.  It's hard to find a good hair stylist in Metro Boston area but I was lucky.

I've seen two different stylists there and have always been pleased.  I used to see Chris and then switched to Marisa one day when Chris was unavailable.  I usually have a chin length angled bob and have had very nice cuts from both of them.  I definitely recommend this salon.

This review has been a long time coming. I first visited Fulham about 5 weeks ago after searching for a new salon/stylist in the area. I had an appointment with Marisa for a cut/tone. She listened intently to what I wanted, and made the whole experience comfortable and fun. Not to mention my color came out amazing...from a gross yellow ombre to a much more natural looking caramel. The cut was amazing and the blow dry was even better. I booked a blow dry with her for the following week, after cancelling my appointment at DryBar. What I liked about Marisa was that she went over everything that she was doing. I aso loved how nice everyone in the salon was, no one was stuck up and unapproachable. The pricing was also fantastic considering the location so close to the city.

I've been trying to find a go-to salon near my house and I finally found it. I was looking to get summer highlights and am so happy with how they turned out. I found my new salon! I just moved to Newton from South Boston and was a little worried about finding a new hair stylist since I can be really picky about my color. I decided to try Fulham based on the stellar reviews and was not disappointed! It is definitely my new place.

My experience was great from the start when I called to schedule my appointment. The guy I spoke with was super nice and, after asking if it would be my first visit, generously told me about their 20% off deal and advised me to hold off on the Yelp deal I was considering purchasing since the new client discount would save me more money. He also worked some magic to squeeze me in for my desired day and time. Excellent customer service.

As I said, I can be picky when it comes to my highlights, and it's often hard to explain what I'm really looking for. You know, that blonde color that isn't yellow or golden, but also isn't too icey or ashy? And with contrast that isn't super stark but still noticeable?  Well, a lot of stylists seem to hear "blonde" and just go to one extreme or another. Marisa, however, totally got it. She took the time to really listen and ask questions, and she carefully explained what she thought would look best and how to accomplish it. After talking it over I was really confident she understood what I was looking for.

Marisa did a full foil, some lowlights for contrast, and applied a toner at the end since my hair tends to pull a lot of yellow. NAILED IT. The color is seriously perfect. And she did an amazing job on the cut, especially considering it had been quite a while since my last one so she had to cut about 5 inches off. I was nervous about having to take that much off but the layers she added were fantastic and really give my hair that extra bounce.

I highly recommend this salon and Marisa, especially if you're picky about your hair. Everyone I came into contact with was super nice, and I literally received a compliment about my color when I was walking out of the salon to my car. The reviews are right on point about this place - check it out!

I've been getting my hair done at Fulham by Marisa since May (it has actually been quite a few trips because I have a pixie and have been experimenting with colors). Fulham Salon has such a welcoming atmosphere and all the staff are super friendly. As someone who has had severe salon-phobia her whole life, saying I love this place is an understatement. I didn't get my hair done in a salon for 15 years after a bad haircut as a kid. I feel very lucky to have found a salon I feel comfortable at, not to mention a stylist who I am more than confident with. I give Marisa minimal guidance and have totally trusted her process since my second visit.

When I met Marisa, I had a light brown, overgrown pixie that I had been trimming myself because I was waiting to find a stylist I was really comfortable with. Since then, she has helped me grow into and get comfortable with my cut while getting rid of all the parts I didn't like. We also have played with color - I had never used anything permanent before because I used to have very long hair that I didn't want to damage. First, she turned me into an amazing blonde that felt (and looked) like it was my natural shade- what's better than that? We've since added some peach and then moved onto a blue/purple combo that I am absolutely obsessed with. I cannot stop looking in the mirror. At risk of sounding cheesy, the only reason you shouldn't have your hair done by Marisa or one of the other lovely stylists at Fulham is if you don't like getting compliments.

I went to this salon today for the first time. I was blessed to meet Kaylie who was in an extensive training program all stylists undergo. She was supervised by Marissa. I appreciated Kaylie's work ethic, her professionalism and insight into what I was trying to articulate made me feel at ease. She took her time with my hair and explained the process where I felt informed and respected. She did a boliage and impressed me given my hair is a level2 brown and she lifted it perfectly. It's gorgeous and I would recommend her entirely. I appreciated the atmosphere and obvious positive vibe this salon embodies. Marissa was knowledgeable, kind, and clearly is a skillful stylist. I was lucky to have met the both of them. Salons receptionist was personable and truly a joy to converse with. All staff seem genuinely happy to be working there! I'll be back and thanks for making my experience wonderful!

Fulham Salon

Everything started well from the time I made my appointment over the phone. They have a yelp deal, $40 for $60 worth of services. On the phone I mentioned this deal, the man said that I should skip that deal because all new customers get 20% off their first visit, and I would save more money. Granted it was only $5 more off for what I was going in for, but I thought it was nice he was being upfront about it. I wouldn't say it is super pricey, but the coupon/discount definitely aided in my choice to chose Fullham.

My stylist was Marisa, who was super friendly and down to earth. She walked me through everything, and told me her opinions, and then asked for mine. I thought it was a good relationship between stylist and customer. She also explained to me in detail everything that was being done, from the type of color to the toner. I was explaining to her that my last ombre/balayage completely killed my hair and she was careful to avoid that. My hair is actually softer than before, I think that speaks for the products and technique they use.

Paul did my shampoo and toner. He was the most thorough stylist I have ever been to during these steps. He really took his time and asked me if I was comfortable throughout the process. He is what they consider a junior stylist (I think he is relatively new to the Fullham Salon family, correct me if I'm wrong) but was definitely top notch from what I could tell.

All in all the staff was very friendly, and completely non-snobish which people have mentioned. I never go off of reviews about appointment issues, because usually those are not fully the salon's fault. Only thing to note is that tip is only accepted in cash, so be aware.

If I am still around this area for my next cut I will definitely go back. I would not be weary about the titles (junior stylist, stylist, etc.) because everyone there has so much talent, not matter who you get I am sure you will be ecstatic with your results! I also think it speaks for the management that the owner comments on every review, it shows he is very aware and involved in the salons.

It was my first time here and I decided to try it because of the Yelp coupon and I was nearby visiting.  I had my haircut with Marisa, and she was really fun and detailed oriented with my haircut.  I usually just cut my hair at some random place since all cuts were just the same for me and nothing special, but I really love my haircut this time!  I actually live an hour away from here, but I'll be back for my next cut.

Thuy (pronounced Twee) is fantastic. Fabulous hairstylist. I have been going to her for 1 1/2 years and have never been disappointed. She listens carefully plus really knows what she's doing.

This is an unpretentious place. All the staff is friendly and helpful and very client focussed. Prices are reasonable.  Parking is easy.

I went to Danielle at Fulham Salon after my sister had visited a few times and I had become envious of her hair. I moved to Providence, RI a year ago, and disappointed with the salons I have tried so far, decided to drive the 45 min to visit Danielle. Boy was it worth it!
I wanted to try coloring my hair for the first time. I showed Danielle a few pictures I had found and described what I was looking for, an ombré look with red and caramel highlights. It came out AMAZING!!! I It looks even better then the pictures I showed her!
Danielle was professional and so sweet. She took her time to guarantee perfection. I am always a little nervous about the cut because I like to wear it naturally curly as well as straight, but I could not be more pleased with it. It perfectly showcases the awesome coloring.
A week later, I am still in love and receiving so many compliments! I can't wait to go back! Thanks Danielle!

I went to Fulham this morning for the first time and loved it. Everyone was so friendly and you can tell they all have a good time working together.  Marissa was my stylist and she took the time to sit down beforehand and ask me what I wanted; went over her plan; and then executed it with excellent precision!  

I used to go to an Aveda salon in Boston but Fulham has converted me - a cup of Aveda tea isn't enough to keep me going back - but Marissa's fantastic hair cut surely will!

I reluctantly decided I should find a salon near me in Boston since I've been living out here for a few years now. I'm used to paying almost half of what most salons in the Boston area charge for a partial foil highlight and a cut. BUT! I do think you get what you pay for at Fulham Salon. Although it's pricey, they did give me 20% off because it was my first visit.

Service - the service was great! They're open on Sundays which as unconventional as it may be works great for me. It's always so tough to get in after work or squeeze it in on Saturdays. It was very easy to book an appointment, the receptionist was very nice. Upon entering the salon, you're greeted with friendly faces and offered a beverage of choice. They seem to have every coffee flavor imaginable. My appointment was with Jillian. She works at the Wellesley location during the week and in Newton on Sundays. Her consultation was awesome; she asked just the right questions to figure out what I wanted ranging from color preference, to how I typically style my hair, to cut and she told me the plan before she went to work. She is super sweet and  a great conversationalist! You can tell she's really passionate about being a hair stylist. She made me feel very comfortable being in a new salon.

Cut - was amazzzzzzzzzzzing. My color is pretty easy, I have dark blonde hair and get highlights, but sometimes they come out too yellowy. Jillian gave me the exact pale cool blonde highlights I wanted with a toner. My cut was perfect, not too much but enough to see a change. She asked a lot of questions, like how short I want the angles etc.

Style - the best part! I have pretty curly hair and she blowdryed it with some flips and volume without needing a flatiron. I was so impressed! Granted I'll never ever make it look like that, but she was also very willing to show me the roundbrush technique and even offered to have me come in and have my hair styled with the products I use at home so she can show me how to achieve that look on my own.

Overall, you're definitely paying more, but it was a great experience start to end! I'll be back!

We just moved in to our new house.  We used yelp to find Fulham Salon.  I had a haircut with Igor.  My fiancé had hers and more with Milo.
The service is great.  The people are awesome.  The haircuts are the best.  The outcome is great.  Igor and Milo are true masters.  They are also nice and engaging.
We strongly recommend them.

I'm usually reluctant to give five-star reviews, but this place definitely deserves it. I went in today to get my hair cut using a LivingSocial offer, and though it was about a 45-minute ride for me to get to, I am extremely pleased with my results! My pixie cut came out better than I had ever envisioned, and though Milo was quite quiet throughout the process, it ensured me that he was fully engrossed in giving me the perfect cut. Got an AMAZING haircut from Marisa and I'm feeling like a bombshell. She talked me through the whole cut and was totally cool with me letting her take control. She is even down to give undercuts and funky short hair styles. I'll be back in 4 months, Marisa!

I went in because I was referred by a friend. They told me I needed to go see Rachel. As a man I have very high anxiety about the whole hair salon thing. I was greeted at the door by a very friendly staff member who walked me into a clean and upbeat shop to see Rachel. I explained to Rachel that I had no idea what I needed done. All I knew was that I looked like I was living in the woods for several months and surviving on squirrel meat. Rachel sat me down and explained my options to look like a member of the human race again. We decided on a certain look, and she went to work. I could tell she was skilled in her trade with minimal use of the buzzer. She used all scissors on my raggedy mop. When she was done I remember looking up into the mirror and almost crying. I felt like one of those people on that show where they turn homeless people into eligible bachelors. She truly is a magician. Thank you so much. Will be seeing her again.

Absolutely great place for a mens haircut. I just moved here from Michigan so I've been looking for a place to get a haircut. I ended up going here a couple of months ago and was extremely impressed with Danielle. She does not rush things and she's very attentive to detail. You can tell she really works to make the customer happy. Very reasonably priced as well. Glad I found this place!

Cannot believe I forgot about this place. I had really liked it the first time I had been here, two years ago, but life got busy and I got lazy about my hair. Thankfully, I received an email from Gilt City which reminded me to come back to this place. I was able to get an appointment just a few days later and I came in ready for a total change from my boring hair.

There was a little bit of a scheduling mix-up on the day of my appointment, but the receptionist and staff quickly made arrangements to make it work and were so friendly when I arrived.

I met with Katherine, who helped change my hair into a fun, tousled bob. Though it's been a couple of days and my hair is not as pink as I thought it would be, I still ended up with a lovely warm color and I appreciate that their stylists put a lot of emphasis into the health of the hair.

I had a Living Social deal for a partial foil at Fulham. When I walked in for my appointment, I was immediately greeted by the receptionist and had my coat hung up for me. Lauren was my stylist and I just can't say enough nice things about her. She really listened to what I had to say and did an excellent job with my highlights. I had also added a haircut, too, and she did such a great job of putting some life back into my hair. She suggested that I add the toner to my highlights and I'm so glad that I did. It made my hair so soft and shiny and the products they used made my hair smell delicious! I will definitely be going back to see Lauren before my wedding in April : )

I really enjoyed my experience. Danielle was friendly and offered advice, but also listened to my preferences and I am very happy with the results. I was offered wine and friendly conversation. The price was also very reasonable. I will be back!

First time client using a Gilt City deal. Walking in the door I immediately felt at ease and welcome. The entire staff is super friendly. The space is clean and neat although small.  My stylist was Marissa and she was awesome. She asked me a lot of questions and made some suggestions based on my hair and my routine. Here's a long review for those of you who thoroughly review salons before entering...

After a traumatizing experience at a "salon" in Quincy on Saturday (12/13/2014), I was left with a botched ombre and over processed, dry hair (see photo). I came into Fulham Salon in Newton this morning with little hope that my hair could be saved- I knew it was possible to fix the color of my hair but I didn't ever think that my once healthy and shiny hair could be restored. I was proven wrong.

WELCOMING/STAFF:
I walked into Fulham this morning (12/17/2014)  for my appointment with Thuy at 10 AM. I was greeted by a very friendly and accommodating woman with an endearing accent and short hair (I didn't get her name). She offered me coffee and hung up my coat for me. She was extremely sweet! At this point of my visit, I had already had an exponentially better time than my last visit at the Quincy salon. I almost found myself being confused because I wasn't used to being greeted by such a warming environment. The rest of the staff was extremely relaxed and did not give off a snobbish vibe that may have been experienced at other places. There was no judgment despite the fact that my hair was heinous (again, botched ombre see picture).

The salon is spacious and designed in an appealing simple way. The floors were my favorite. It was also very clean, no leaky ceilings or dust filled crevices. The staff was also very presentable- gave off a really clean vibe (if that makes sense). The lighting in the downstairs part of the salon is really great and the hair washing stations were clean.

PLANNING:
Thuy was on time and got to work right away. She didn't criticize my hair at all even though I was open about how horrible it was. She understood that it was 11/10 horrible and that's why I was there, obviously. She worked on my hair with the assistance of Katherine. Before adding any product to my hair, she worked out what exactly would happen: sectioning, measuring, and simply creating a detailed outline of what her plan was. This was something that I really appreciated- not only for that fact that I knew what was going to actually be done but because both Thuy and Katherine spoke with confidence and technical terms as they weighed out options (ex. color numbers/letters, level numbers, what would work, what didn't etc). It was when I could clearly hear that they knew exactly what they were doing that I was able to relax- I really trusted that they would deliver great results They came up with the idea to have a deep red violet melt. Sounded great- not that I knew what any of the color codes meant. To be honest, I really wasn't picky/didn't give much input because literally nothing could be worse than my traumatic "ombre" from Saturday. Literally anything was better. The one point that I made clear was that I was not willing to bleach my hair again.

APPLYING THE DYE:
When it came to getting creating the results, Thuy took charge and guided/discussed where and how to apply the dye with Katherine before they actually did it. I was really comforted by the fact that they were planning before executing (something the Quincy hairdresser did not do at all). Without getting too much into it, throughout the whole process Thuy was organized and attentive (and so was Katherine!) You could see the gears working in Thuys head over little details- it was amazing, really.

DYE SETTING/WASHING:
As the dye set I was very comfortable, I was offered coffee again and checked on regularly. To go back a bit, at the Quincy Salon, the woman put my hair into one of those dome hair dryers- while there was bleach in my hair. I brought this up to Katherine and she showed remorse and reassured that Fulham doesn't even have one of those hair damaging domes of doom. When the setting was done, Katherine attended me right when she said she would (11:30 AM) and went to wash my hair. She made sure that the water wasn't too hot for me by asking) as she washed my hair with gloves to avoid purple hand stains). She also was gentle but thorough with my hair, including a scalp massage. I really want to point out that she took her time- no rushing at all! The shampoo and conditioner that was used smells SO GOOD- it's intoxicating.

DRYING/ STYLING:
Katherine did a great job of drying and styling my hair. I noticed that she did not expose my hair to excessive heat from the hand held dryer and the brush. Her technique was perfected and it was clear that she was experienced by the way she utilized the rounded surface of the hair dryer as a way to "catch" each section of hair after going over it once, this is hard to explain but i assure you that it was a well crafted method.

RESULTS:
I can't believe that my hair has been saved. It's not condemned by cooper and yellow/orange tones. My hair has been restored as the ends are not frizzy and dry. I don't know how they did that, but I love it. Thuy and Katherine did an amazing job as you can see in the photos.

I go to Fulham to have my hair cut by Missy - she's the best! She listened carefully to what I wanted from a hair cut and offered advice so I would walk out of the salon looking great. And I did! I get tons of compliments on my haircut and I refer everyone to her.

This review is for Lauren, the master of highlights and non-mom cuts. Moving from the midwest, I looked high and low for the perfect highlights - not too Pamela Anderson, not too dishwater. Lauren always gives me the perfect shade and steers me in the right direction with my cut, even with my 2 tons of thick hair. I am so fortunate to have found her and have recommended her to several of my friends. I look forward to seeing her every 8 weeks!

I live in NYC but discovered this place two years ago when I was visiting my sister and my hair needed serious help, and now I go whenever I'm in town (my sister is now a convert as well). I absolutely LOVE Fulham Salon. Roxy at the front desk couldn't be lovelier or more helpful in scheduling appointments, and I feel like I hit the jackpot finding Danielle, who is both an expert stylist and such an awesome person! I went to see Danielle and was initially pretty anxious about it 1) because I had seen the same stylist back in western mass for over 10 years and 2) I've lost a ton of hair recently, which I am really self conscious about. As soon as I walked in, Roxy at the front desk gave me a huge, friendly smile and I felt at ease. Danielle then took the time to listen to my concerns, asked some really great/important questions, and told me what her plan was for me. She also had advised the young woman shampooing my hair (I forget her name, but she just moved from PA, was very sweet, and gave a killer head massage!) to use a particular product to encourage my scalp's health. When I returned to Danielle's chair, she talked me through what she was doing/using and why as well as showing me how to use my curling iron to get the most out of the hair that I do have. My hair looks really healthy, we had a great conversation, and Danielle was really kind and compassionate about my nerves and concerns. I couldn't have asked for a better experience from the moment I walked in until the moment I left, not to mention that I certainly lucked out with finding Danielle right away.

That said, I really enjoyed my experience at Fulham Salon.  I was greeted very pleasantly by the receptionist and taken for my appointment right away.  Danielle was a doll and took the time to talk through the style I wanted (ombre) and to make sure I was making the right color decisions for me.  My 2.5 hour service flew by and she did an absolutely amazing job!  Two words: HEAD MASSAGE!  Danielle does an amazing head massage!  

Another plus - the staff offered to pay the meter for me when I asked about whether it was monitored or not - so nice and definitely above and beyond what they have to do.

To top it all off, I got 20% since it was my first visit.  Thank you, Danielle and Fulham Salon!  I will definitely be back! :)

I highly recommend Fulham Salon because of the inviting and cleanly environment and the talented staff. I scheduled an appointment for a drastic change including full highlights and a full color. I've always been a brunette, and I wanted to transition to red with blonde highlights. I chose Fulham because of their positive reviews and their free consultation prior to the appointment. Milo rocked the consultation giving a completely different option which I never could have imagined on my own! Instead of blonde highlights on top of red, he asked me to envision partial blonde highlights and then red coloring after to give a varied red coloring. With this said, he was extremely supportive of following through with my original picture if I chose that instead. I went with Milo's option and I couldn't be happier! During my time at Fulham I was assisted by multiple staff members, all of them friendly and dedicated to making each customer's experience the best possible. If you're looking for a fun, creative environment with extreme talent and professionalism you've certainly found the place! I give my highest recommendation to Fulham and to Milo. I got my hair cut and highlighted here a few weeks ago. Katelyn was my stylist and I loved the final result. I chose this salon because i had a Buy With Me coupon for partial foil highlights but since I have so much hair I'm pretty sure what I had done was more than just partial highlights, though I wasn't charged extra. Everyone at the salon was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable. Katelyn spent a long time on my highlights but significantly less time on the cut than I'm used to -- both turned out perfect! I had shown Katelyn a photo of the look I wanted and she made it work on me. The prices are a bit out of my normal budget range but you definitely get what you pay for -- I HIGHLY recommend this salon and will get my next haircut here if I am able to afford it!

love this place. I was so annoyed with my hair and was ready to cut it all off. My appt was with Katelyn who suggested an alternative haircut so since I read great things about her here on yelp, I trusted her. She takes her time and puts a lot of work into what she does. I am so happy with my hair now and will be coming back for color and anything else I need. It's an hour drive for me but completely worth it. Highly recommended

Milo did my haircut for one hour with patience and carefulness. He asked my opinion and provide some helpful suggestions as well. His cutting style is slightly different, as first cut with wet hair, blow it, and then with a dry finish. The way he blows my hair is smart and talented. I would try to do the same in daily hair blow.

I got my hair cut by Katelyn and I am very pleased! When I first walked in the receptionist was very nice and welcoming. Katelyn asked me exactly what I wanted and did exactly that. She knew how to cut asian hair and explained everything she was doing. I could tell she was very experienced and really took her time.

Just moved to the area and was lookin for a good salon that was reasonably priced. Thankfully yelp led me to just the right place. The salon is nice and comfortable and Alex did a great job on my cut and color. No shortcuts or mistakes  She listened to my concerns and got everything spot on. I was also a hot mess before Thuy got a hold of my mop. My hair had been blonde, then an attempt to go back to my natural color left it somewhere in a brown green scheme and then I was attacked by an at home box color that left me with a terrible auburn color while the light brown of my natural color tried to come through. I had ends that were ancient, fried, and split. I needed help, badly

Thuy took the time to help me pick out the kind of highlights for me and used a toner to help them blend with the rest of my hair. The final result was better than I could have imagined. I am so in love with the high lights and the cut. I have curly hair but blow it straight half the time and have never really had a proper cut that could be considered a style both straight and curly. Thuy nailed it, she put the right amount of layers in ,kept it at a longer length but its half the weight as it was before!!

So not only was my stylst a complete genius the rest of the staff was incredible as well. As soon as I walked in everyone was friendly and helpful, not only to me and other guests but to each other! Plus, my poor mother had to drive up early from CT to take me and then wait a few hours while Thuy transformed my hair from disgusting to completely amazing ;  and everyone was great to her. Offered her magazines, coffee, even wine. She plans on coming with my again next time I need to go but this time to get her hair done as well she was so embarrassed.

Wanted to give a review for Lauren. My hair is fine, but I have a lot of it, so it needs to be texturized. Unfortunately, most stylists get it wrong. She understood my hair woes and cleaned up another hair stylists bad haircut.

I tried this salon for the first time today.  I had an appointment with Lauren to have my hair colored.  She listened carefully to what I was looking for, was willing to look at a picture on my phone to understand the look I had in mind.  She had great suggestions about color and picked a great color for me, I loved the result!    
I will definitely be going back and recommend this salon if you are looking for a reasonably priced salon in the area.  The only issue I had was finding parking, but they did say that there is a parking lot behind the salon that offers 3 hour parking.

Love! I've been going to a wonderful Newbury St salon for awhile now,but really wanted to find a place closer to home.  After reading the yelp reviews I knew this would be worth a try.  I was fortunate enough to get an appointment with Milo for a cut and color. I am thrilled with the result.  He gave me great advice during the consultation which resulted in a change from my usual color and style. My hair looks amazing and I've received so many compliments.   The ambiance is low key and I loved that he wasn't working on other people while doing my hair and that I didn't get handed off to multiple people to check me during the various processes.  Really a wonderful experience. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great haircut in a relaxed atmosphere.

I found this place randomly after my usual salon became too hard to get an appointment at in a reasonable time frame. I was able to get in the same day that I called to see Katelyn.  She did a great job on my color and was enjoyable to talk to. She really worked with me to figure out what would look best on me. The added bonus is that this place isn't downtown so the prices are way more reasonable. The super added bonus is that the woman that washed my hair gave me the best scalp massage I have ever had at any salon ever!

I LOVED this place. Let me preface this by saying I have difficult, curly, frizzy, thick hair which has always been difficult to manage. Previous hairdressers at other salons have always given me sass about my hair being too difficult to cut, but Lauren was very patient and welcoming. She explained a great and easy way to deal with my hair, and gave me a flattering long layered cut which I LOVE! Definitely coming back here. The staff is all very down to earth. They'll even refill the meter outside for you.

I went to Fulham Salon, partially lured by Igor's response to every post. This guy is... really into his Yelp reviews, I thought.

But anyway, to the best of my knowledge, and I'm just a user, I don't work for Yelp, this is how the Yelp filter works. If someone reviews your business as one of their first reviews, whether the rating is low or high, it often goes in the filter because an algorithm has determined it may not have been written by a legit reviewer.

Now that I got that off my chest, I have been looking and looking for someone to give me a Newbury St. quality haircut in the comfort of my own suburb at an affordable price. After reading every single Newton salon review on Yelp, I selected Fulham Salon. I went to their website. It was easy to understand. They had a place to book an appointment and I emailed, believing that most businesses are pretty flaky about website email and I would not get an immediate (or any) response as has happened to me at other businesses. Bright and early the next day, I got an email confirmation with directions to confirm my appointment. I was impressed and confirmed.

I went in to my appointment with Christopher and everyone was extremely nice. I was greeted pleasantly. Someone actually took my coat and brought me a beverage. I was asked repeatedly if I was comfortable, thirsty, etc. And Chris took my streaky dye job and crooked layers and fixed them right up exactly the way I wanted them. He had some ideas about how to handle the color that hadn't occurred to me and it came out better, so go team Christopher!

Just had a haircut with Milo who was very attentive and talented. He greeted me warmly and listened to what I wanted but also added his own opinion on the side bangs I got and the type of layers. He skillfully and delicately shaped my hair and using all kinds of techniques. I was a little unsure at first since it takes some talent to work with asian hair, but he is a pro. His blow drying skills were also impressive and I looked like a beauty queen when all was done. I will be back and highly recommend him.

I tried this salon after reading other positive reviews on Yelp in addition to their "first time customer" deal.  I've had my colored twice and cut once by Chris.  He is super nice and listened to what I was looking for and what my plans were (getting my hair up to par for my July 2011 wedding).  Everyone there is friendly and they offer you the typical coffee/water, which is nice.  They're also very flexible... My cut/color appointment was for 1pm, but I misread my calendar and thought it was 11am, so I showed up a few min after 11.  They were confused for a bit until I realized that I had screwed up!  But not to worry!  Chris didn't have anything else scheduled so after he finished blow drying his client's hair, he got to work with me (which I think overrode his lunch time - sorry!!).  It was great that they were so easy going and that I didn't have to leave and come back.  Plus, I love my hair color, and Chris even got my super heavy/thick hair to be CURLY!  I'm unable to get it to look even remotely good at home, so I was impressed :)

Really can't say how pleased I was with my visit to Fulham Salon.  Went with a Living Social deal for a big haircut (more than 10" cut off).  Everyone was really friendly and welcoming.  My stylist was Thuy and she was absolutely wonderful.  Talked to me about what I wanted, asked before she made any big cuts, really listened to me and gave me the best (and shortest) cut I've ever had.  After living in Boston for 4 years I think I may have finally found a regular stylist!!

I purchased a Groupon for Fulham Salon because I am still searching for a salon that gives a haircut worth Boston prices that I'd like to return to. (I have gotten better haircuts at far cheaper prices in Western Mass than anywhere in Boston.) I went in for a wash, cut and blow dry with Danielle. She was really sweet and friendly, as was the rest of the staff. She did a good consultation and gave me a GREAT haircut, definitely the best I've gotten in the Boston area in the past three years. For some reason I find stylists have a hard time with angles but what she did looks great, and she really listened to me the whole time. When I told her I had a date the next night she even took extra time to show me how to curl my hair with a flat iron and did my whole head over again! I got tons of compliments, and a few days later I still love the way it looks when I do a basic blow dry myself. I'll definitely go back to Danielle and Fulham Salon!

I just moved to Newton and was referred to Katelyn and the salon from a co-worker.  Was pleasantly surprised they offer new customers, as well as the person who referred you 20% off.  

Katelyn chatted with me awhile asking what I was looking for in color as well as a cut.  I wanted to go back to my Fall fun red look I like in the colder months and she did a great job in helping me select the right color/shade/intensity etc..   She is an excellent colorist and has a great eye in finding a complementary color (and cut) that suites the persons face/skin tone.  She also did a great job on my haircut and really took the time to ensure it was just right in terms of weight, length, shape and layers.  My hair can be tough because it's wavy, curly and thick, but she knew exactly what to do with it.  

Everyone is the salon was friendly and nice.  I enjoyed the glass of wine that was offered to me and thought that was a great touch.  All in all a wonderful salon experience.  

I LOVE my cut and color and have received numerous compliments all day long.  Thank you!

I've been to Fulham a few times for hightlights and a cut, and would highly recommend checking them out. The salon has a upscale downtown feel but also the warm, personal atmosphere you'd expect from a smaller place. Plus cuts are more affordable than anything you'd find downtown.

Chris K is wonderful - he has a friendly, energetic personality and does fantastic work. He listens to what you want, gives helpful suggestions, and is meticulous when he works. Not only have I left the salon feeling fantastic, but the cuts/highlights have grown out wonderfully (I don't get my hair cut often so this is very important to me). To top things off, the owner has been in the salon each time I've been there - it's clear that he cares about making sure customers are satisfied and have had a wonderful experience.

Love this place! So far I've been three times and seen two different stylists, (Thuy and I believe Lauren) and have loved my hair every time! It's priced pretty average for Newton, but some services (like an additional $40 for a blow dry, even with a cut or color) are a bit pricey. Everyone is very nice, and accommodating.

I went to Fulham Salon after purchasing a living social deal and I got the best color I think I have had in Boston since living here for 5 years. Alex did an AWESOME job and made my hair the exact color/shade I wanted including making the shade look natural. She was so nice and talkative- which is great compared to having someone who is quiet and conversation feels awkward.  I would definitely recommend going to Fulham Salon- ask for Alex! She was wonderful.  The other thing I want to touch on is that even though I had a living social deal (and paid a little extra for full foils), they treated me as a normal customer who wasn't just there due to a coupon. It was a great excuse to try a new place, and I will definitely go back there again to get my hair done because it is worth every penny to have great color and great people.

I have been searching for a new salon that is closer to home and work -- going downtown is a trek and parking is not fun. A colleague recommended Fulham salon in Newton Centre and I finally got around to checking them out. I made an appointment with the owner, Igor, for a haircut. He was a good find. Igor is energetic, smart and most importantly, very skilled. He listened to the challenges I have (2 young children, no time, sister-in-law's wedding this summer where my hair needs to be done a certain way) and helped with a solution that should grow gracefully.

I am originally from CT and been living in the Boston area on and off for a couple of years now.  I have gone to at least 10 different salons but have always been disappointed by the outcome, especially the price boston charges -- you would think the cuts/colors I get would be at least decent.   The last two salons I went to had butchered my haircut, so I was really hesitant to try Fulham Salon based on the yelp reviews (cause the other two salons also had 4-5 stars) but I am so glad that I went here!

I booked an appointment with Lauren (and based on the different levels of the stylist...she was listed as "stylist" which made me worry a little more...) and I am ecstatic with my cut and color!  I have always been a big fan of trying new looks from really short spiky hair with pink highlights to long elegant black asian hair.  This time around I wanted to do a purple panels or mini highlights....I am very particular about the product line that salons use for these bold colors so I was very happy to hear that they had Pravana!  For those who are familiar with Pravana, you know that the color stays and is quite vibrant!  However, the receptionist told me that they only carried Wella when asked what color line they have for bright colors but I guess I shouldn't expect her to know this.

Lauren made me feel very comfortable and listened to every request I asked for.  I got a semi long layer bob...or at least what she can do with my butchered haircut from the previous salon.  The color actually came out fuscia...she knew I wanted a purple/violet color.  When she blow-dried my hair, she made no hesitation to let me know that she can easily fix it for me for no charge at a later appointment if I am not happy with it.  But I wasn't feeling well since I was there for 4 hours and had just gotten my wisdom tooth pulled that weekend, I didn't care at that point.  I was really glad that she offered that to me though.  After a couple of days, I eventually came around to liking the color.  The cut and blowdry was awesome.  It stayed perfect for 5 days!  And even better, it didn't cost me a lot of money.  I was expecting to have at least paid $200 for all that time and process to get the style I wanted.  Even though I got the 20% discount off for being a new client, it still wasn't much prior to that discount.

I will definitely recommend Lauren to everyone, especially if you are looking for a funky different look.  I am ecstatic that I no longer have to drive back to CT  to see my usual stylist.  And within the 4 hours I was there, all the other clients who walked out of there had a great cut also!  So, I would have no hesitation to make an appointment with any of the other stylists there also.  They were also kind enough to go out to feed the meter for me too.  Love this place! :)

Similar to Bethany, I too had a Buy with me coupon, and was treated just like any other customer.

My stylist, Katelyn Alberts, was fantastic from start to finish. Honestly hands down - the best highlights I have ever gotten.  She took the time to understand what I was hoping to achieve, and delivered solutions that I had not heard of at other salons (which now seem like no-brainers).  

I would be back in a heart beat if it weren't for the prices - highlights for me are a luxury, and so I must continue to hunt for stylists that are similar to Katelyn (no luck yet)!

Would definitely be back, and have recommended to many people I work with who have had similar experiences with Katelyn.

I went to see Lauren for color and i was thrilled with her service. She listened to exactly what i wanted. She gave me great advice. Everyone at the salon was super nice, and helpful. I've been to many salons in Newton... the nice environment and service was the best in the 6 years i've been in Newton.

I went to Fulham salon as a first time customer for a cut and partial foil highlights, and I am happy to say that I came away with what is easily one of - if not THE best - haircuts I have ever had.  

The salon is really nice, very clean and welcoming, and everyone on the staff was so friendly.  They made sure I was comfortable while I waited and throughout my visit, and even went out to feed my meter for me with no hesitation when I was there longer than I had thought I would be!

Katelyn did my hair, and she was wonderful.  She took the time to listen to what I wanted and offer her own suggestions.  She was very meticulous with my highlights and cut, and the end result is that it looks amazing and is exactly what I wanted.  She also gained a ton of points in my book by taking the time to explain to me exactly what she was doing as she styled my hair for me at the end.  I always hate how I can never get my hair to look as good as the stylist did when I left the salon, but I have had no problems recreating Katelyn's look for me since I left.

I originally went here because I had a BuyWithMe deal.  Generally, I don't like paying very much for a haircut and am always on the lookout for a cheap place to get it done.  But I think Fulham Salon has changed my outlook - I loved my cut and style so much that I think I will be willing to splurge a bit again in the future.  I will definitely be back!

Went here for a hair cut using a Buy With Me coupon and was very happy with my cut and the service.

I got there early and was greeted and offered water immediately. A+ for service. They did not treat me like I had a "coupon", but a normal customer.

I have a lot of hair, and sometimes stylists can't handle it, but Fulham salon was excellent. My stylist discussed everything with me before starting so we were on the same page. She spent a lot of time making the cut just right.

The space was very open and not decorated that much, but had cute pics of Boston scenery up top on the walls. Cool.

I'd recommend this place if you want a really good $50 haircut. Prices are nicely displayed on their website too, so it's easy to know exactly what you're getting into.

In short, I thought the people working there were super nice and attentive! The interior is cute and conveniently located, which is always a plus! I believe Alex was my stylist, and she was very friendly and fun to talk to as I had my hair done. She did everything just as I wanted and I walked away with a smile.

I would love to recommend this salon. Relatively recent addition to
downtown Newton. Light bright place with very friendly and knowledgeable
staff. I see Chris K. He does great work and is very helpful in choosing
cut and color methods. Prices are more reasonable than downtown
Boston and there is either free or cheap parking! T also stops nearby.
The owner of the salon  Igor, seems intent on keeping a well run and well
staffed business with attention to quality.

I love this place. The decor is really cool, they have pictures of the cities the other salons are. I have my highlights done here and the hair dressers listen to you and give you what you ask for.

Got a great cut from Thuy at a very reasonable price and a bunch of free goodies at the end of my appointment. I have moderately curly hair that falls flat really easily, but I walked away with a haircut that works perfectly curly, wavy, or straightened, so I'm thoroughly impressed. The entire salon staff was friendly and welcoming.

First of all, I need to stress that I was an absolute HOT MESS when I walked into Fulham. I had roots as long as the Mississippi and bleach blonde hair almost as bad as Pamela Andersons. Thuy was my stylist, who was smiling and cheerful the minute I shook her hand. I was totally over the upkeep of foils so my mission was to get my hair back to one color, preferably my natural color. Thuy was my amazing person for this difficult task.

She was kind, patient, and seemed genuinely interested in what I needed her to do with my hair. She took a good amount of time explaining the different colors she would consider for me, which was finally chosen down to a sandy brown. She reassured me that she could handle the mess that stood on top of my head and I was happier than a pig in, well... you know.

After applying my head with color, she asked if she could feed my meter (inconveniently, they're only 1 hour). Quickly realizing I was out of quarters, she happily said it was no problem, grabbed some quarters for me, and ran out to help avoid me receiving my 3rd parking ticket this month in Newton. A-MAZING. I've working in the hospitality field for a long time and sadly I see less and less kindness and all-in-all giving a shit. As small of an offer it was, it was really nice to have had Thuy do that for me.

When my color was ready, a sweet woman (I think her name was Lauren) did my wash. She was totally nice, cheerful, and did a nice little massage on my scalp. There was a special little deal going on where Foursquare/Facebook peeps who checked into the salon received a travel size shampoo. She told me about the deal and being a Foursquare addict, I excitedly said I had already done so which won me a cute little bottle of shampoo! Mini score.

When Thuy cut and dried my hair, it looked AWESOME. It was EXACTLY the color of my brows. Til the end of time, I will never know what she did to make it look the way it does. She is truly talented and I'm happy to say that I've found my new resident salon. Everyone working seemed pleasant and it was very clean, which is a plus for me.

Anyway- I first went here with a Living Social coupon in Jan., and have since continued coming here.  I have lived in this area for over 10 years, and really haven't been able to find a great place to go.  Until I met Christopher!  My hair is VERY thick, and it always feels great to come out of there!  

I am getting married in Oct., and Christopher has been giving me great ideas...too bad I can't bring him to Florida for the wedding!  I even went to Christopher to get my hair blown straight for our engagement photos!  When I went last time there was even a free offer from checking in on Yelp to get a free Wella shampoo.

Long story short.....great friendly place to go to!!  I will definitely be returning!!

I went to Fulham Salon, partially lured by Igor's response to every post. This guy is... really into his Yelp reviews, I thought.

But anyway, to the best of my knowledge, and I'm just a user, I don't work for Yelp, this is how the Yelp filter works. If someone reviews your business as one of their first reviews, whether the rating is low or high, it often goes in the filter because an algorithm has determined it may not have been written by a legit reviewer.

Now that I got that off my chest, I have been looking and looking for someone to give me a Newbury St. quality haircut in the comfort of my own suburb at an affordable price. After reading every single Newton salon review on Yelp, I selected Fulham Salon. I went to their website. It was easy to understand. They had a place to book an appointment and I emailed, believing that most businesses are pretty flaky about website email and I would not get an immediate (or any) response as has happened to me at other businesses. Bright and early the next day, I got an email confirmation with directions to confirm my appointment. I was impressed and confirmed.

I got 20% off my first services with a Sr. Stylist and Yelp also has a freebie if you check in, currently.

I went in to my appointment with Christopher and everyone was extremely nice. I was greeted pleasantly. Someone actually took my coat and brought me a beverage. I was asked repeatedly if I was comfortable, thirsty, etc. And Chris took my streaky dye job and crooked layers and fixed them right up exactly the way I wanted them. He had some ideas about how to handle the color that hadn't occurred to me and it came out exactly the way I wanted, so go team Christopher!

Could it be that I have finally found the salon I've been searching for? Looks very good so far! Stay tuned.

As I'm typing this review, it's taking me every ounce of willpower to keep my hands off of my hair. It's been 3 days since my appointment at Fulham and my hair still looks amazing.

I checked out Fulham Salon after seeing a deal on AmazonLocal. I was looking for a salon that was easy to get to and easy-going. Lucky me - I found it!

From the moment I stepped foot in the salon, I got a warm feeling from the place. The people who worked there were friendly and genuine, and it really felt like everyone got along well there. I can't tell you how many salons I've stepped in where you could just FEEL the drama before you meet anyone. I sensed none of that here.

My appointment was with Danielle and I thought she had a fantastic, sweet personality. She was great when it came to hearing out my goals and giving her own recommendations in response. I felt like I was in good hands.

I came out with a beautiful hair, with perfect highlights and a blowdry that, like I said, I'm still happily sporting. I think Danielle is especially great for people seeking highlights, because she's done one of the best jobs I've ever had.

I purchased a Living Social deal for a cut/blow-dry/style based almost entirely on the excellent reviews I had seen by my fellow Yelpers.  I was looking for a hair stylist closer to my home and a salon that wasn't too fussy or fancy.  My appointment was later on a Friday and the salon was pretty quiet.  "Uncharacteristically quiet" according to Danielle ... but that was fine by me.  I enjoyed the quiet after a hectic day with my 11 month old son.  :)

I told Danielle that as a (relatively) new mom I rarely have time to get my hair cut and it had been awhile.  I wanted to keep my length, but also add a little style and oomph as my hair is very fine and tends to be flat.  Danielle listened patiently to my concerns and provided me with some excellent suggestions that she implemented to provide me with one of the best hair cuts I've ever had.  Unlike any stylist I've been to in the past she blew dry my hair while talking me through each step and giving me tips on how I could achieve the results on my own.   I peppered Danielle with questions about what shampoo/conditioner combo she would recommend and she suggested I try the Wella line in a combination I never would have thought about.

Danielle never once scolded me for not getting my  hair cut as often as I should (like I said, new mom) or pressured me into buying expensive products like previous stylists have.  She was genuine, knowledgeable and attentive.  In other words, she was lovely, and I will be returning.  :)

It's a really fun feeling to get your hair cut for the first time in almost 2 years and absolutely love it!!

Christopher did such an amazing job. I had 12" to cut off to donate and then find some sort of haircut that I would feel good with. He hit the nail on the head.

I got the recommendation from a friend and we both get a referral discount because of it.

I'll be back (and maybe for more frequent haircuts now that I've got a good place!!)

This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a Yelp review of any kind and the first time I've ever gone back to a salon more than once! It's not that I have super high and mighty standards, I'm just usually more attached to a good groupon deal than I am to a stylist. That changed after I found Katelyn!

I have a very short pixie cut and every time I used to get it cut I felt that my hair stylists kind of played it safe because they are used to women who are terrified of cutting even an extra centimeter off their head. No matter where I went or what I asked for it came out the same. Katelyn, however, really listened to what I wanted and took some initiative to give me the unique and edgy style I have now. Not to mention she and everyone there are nice, funny, attentive and friendly.

Even though at $65 a cut, Fulham has exceeded my groupon-only hair budget, it's still a deal for the excellent quality. No exaggeration, I literally have people ask me several times a day, every day where I got my hair cut! That alone is worth a lot!

Milo (sorry if I spelled it wrong!) was incredibly sweet and genuine in showing me some ideas to enhance my very dark hair. His temperament alone made me feel very comfortable with the process. The staff was also very friendly and got my two coffees (yay).

The cut and color was beautifully done and not too dramatic for being a foil virgin. You could tell that Milo was proud of his work too in taking me to show me what the color looked like in the bright sunlight- it was evident that he takes pride in his work which he should!

In all honesty, my biggest impression of the place was with the energy of the staff- from the people at the desk, to my stylist, and even the people washing hair. It seemed very home-y and not stuffy/diva-esque like other salons. Everyone was very warm, professional, and seemed to enjoy doing hair together. I really liked the family vibe!

The one downside...I was late to my appointment due to the parking drama of the area. Park behind the building and be prepared to have enough coins to feed the hungry meters! And in case you were wondering (I was)...there's a Starbucks 3 stores down WIN.

My first Yelp review, and I definitely can say I love this place! I don't normally like to spend over $30 for a haircut, but this place is worth every penny. I haven't had my hair cut in over a year, since I couldn't find a place in Boston that I liked or that was within my budget.  I always pass by Fulham Salon since I live right around the area, and since I was desperately in need of a cut I decided to give it a try with a Living Social deal after reading other Yelp reviews.  

i was afraid at first while booking an appointment with them, because I've read at some other high-end places they instantly push back your appointment if you bought a groupon/livingsocial deal. The receptionist who answered my call was really nice and understanding, after I called twice to change my appointment.

When I arrived, I was greeted kindly and offered a seat and refreshments while I waited for the stylist (Milo) to finish up with his first client.  Milo was really helpful in giving tips, because I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my hair.  He knew what he was doing, by giving me some layers and cutting my bangs specifically to the way I like them.  I'm really pleased with how he cut my hair, I walked out of that salon feeling like a million bucks.

Overall, the experience was great and I'm definitely going back! I highly recommend this place to anyone.
